Animal Crossing Wifi Help City Folk?

I'm on animal crossing city folk and when I try to go into someones town the gates open and i'm about to walk through when suddenly a blue screen comes up with a mole that says 'Wifi connection lost....' I keep checking my Wifi connection and it seems to be just fine, I can't go into anyones town and no one can come to mine. Please help, I really want to play. Also my wireless internet is netgear.
